My name is Sonia Robinson, I am a Mechanical Engineer raised in Shaker Heights, OH, working on my BSME from Northeastern University. I have professional research experience in both robotics and XR educational app development, with a focus in mechanical design, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and programming.
Since September 2025, I have been working with Silicon Synapse Labs a Northeastern University research lab with a focus on multimodal locomotion. Through both the PEAK program and my interest in robotics research I have been contributing to mechanical development on Husky V3 through the landing perch, traction soft-shoes, and other miscellaneous mechanical components.
For 3.5 years, I gained valuable programming experience in python for XR applications and 3D visualistaion through my work with Professor Shulei Zhang at Case Western Reserve University with The Interactive Commons which can be found HERE as well as in the Projects section of this website. I have also gained experience in Java, MATLAB, HTML, and CSS through various projects and coursework.
